This is my class T-shirt, but as you can tell it has my name on it. Our school uses these T-shirts for class gathering, such as sport festival and culture festival. I was shocked to see my name on it because I am only going to stay here for a semester. Then I realized everything that they gave me except my uniform had my name on it. I was really surprised.
This picture is right outside my host parents house. We were going to the town's festival. They only had one, so they insisted on me wearing the pink one. I really didn't want to be the only one in a yukata, so on that day we bought my yukata. We both enjoyed it very much.
I'm am leaving on August 18th, and I'm extremely excited! I got my host family everything, and got everything they asked for. I have to start packing, but now only two more weeks! Oh well.......I think that's all for writing.

The Pre-departure orientation happened in Chicago. In one of the religious college. I got to meet many people who are going to Germany. So we were assigned groups, there was three groups of people going to Germany. I was assigned to a yellow team, and these are people who didn't have enough people in there country. I got to meet cool people, and had a really good time with them.

I have already received my host family information and everything. I will be going to Musashino-shi Tokyo, Japan! I asked to live in the suburb, and I am happy to see that they granted my wish! In my host family, I have two sisters eighteen and sixteen, a father, and a mother. Sadly, I won't be able to meet one of the host sisters because she will be going to the U.S. My school would be in another town, and a private school. I would be taking a train for ten minutes, and then twenty minutes on the bus. My school will start on September 1st, but I will visit my school on August 30th for uniform and greeting my teachers.

Hi! My name is Kana, and I am on the program with Youth For Understanding . I am going to Japan for the Fall Semester of 2014! This is the basic introduction, so I will be give more details later. I will probably post more videos, but I may write here and there. I speak Japanese, but I mumble when talking to someone higher than me (Ex. sensei). I can write simple words but not kanji.
